![]() they had quality control problems when they 1st came out. the cdp's were the weak link at that time. I bought about six tivoli portable rigs with the tuner, stereo speaker, powered sub-woofer & cdp's for gifts & kept one for myself. The tivoli portable radio is very good & the tivoli system is pretty good but the henry kloss designed model twelve transportable from cambridge soundworks is excellent. Look into the henry kloss designed model twelve trans-portable system from cambridge soundworks as an alternative. It probably outperforms any new player at its price point that I've heard and in that sense is a good deal - also a very, very small form factor when seen in person - it would indeed be very nice with a small amp on top (read Gilmore Lite, RA-1, etc.). A descent player, good for the money - does soem things very, very well - real natural and warm - but lacks resolution and detail of other players that you could buy used for $200. It was warm, analogue sounding, if you will not the best detail or best separation or resolution. I can understand how it might scratch CDs as the mechanism really grabs a hold of them with some surprising force. Listening to the RCA to the other Tivoli products sounded better than the headphone output. ![]() Has a mini headphone output and regular RCA outputs. It wasn't the longest audition but I heard some interesting things (of course the salespeople thought that I was nuts and were ticked that I wasn't buying a plasma HDTV so it wasn't under ideal circumstances).įirst, it has a variable output compete with its own remote. Okay, I went back to Tweeter and listened to it.
